The Hamas government closed the main office of Wataniya, one of two mobile operators in Palestine, on Saturday for “not cooperating with the police regarding the Beit Hanoun explosion”. The police had demanded information regarding calls and messages made in the area at the time of the explosion.

Gaza Police Spokesman, Ayman Batneeje, has said that the closing of the office was ordered by Gaza Attorney General.

Local media in Gaza reported that employees of Jawwal, the other mobile operator, were also arrested for the same reason. The two companies had refused to give any information without a court order from the Attorney General in the West Bank.

Palestinian Authority has held Hamas responsible for the explosion as it had occurred in their territory, even if they had denied any affiliation. Five security guards were injured in the attack which had targeted the convoy of Palestinian Authority PM, Rami Hamadallah and Head of Intelligence,Majed Farej en route Gaza.
